NFL Week 13 Cash-In: New York vs Washington

Wild on Sports
NFL Week 13 Cash-In
New York Giants vs. Washington Redskins
Line: New York -1, O/U: 45.5

The 4-7 New York Giants head to DC on Sunday for a divisional game against RGIII and the 3-8 Redskins. The Giants come into the game winners of 4 of their last 5, their lone loss during that stretch was a heart breaker last week against Dallas. The NFC East is still up for grabs but it is going to take a near perfect finish for the Giants to pull it off. Eli Manning and the Giants defense have both looked more like the team we expected going into the season and not the team that lost 6 straight to open the season. Andre Brown has come back from injury and emerged as a treat on the ground. As he goes so do the Giants.

Washington is coming off a Monday night beating from San Francisco. They have now lost three in a row and RGIII continues his sophomore slump. His mobility is improving week to week but when facing any kind of pass rush his happy feet have caused him to be erratic at times with his throws. He is going against a Giants pass rush that traditionally is one of the best in the NFC. The good news for the Redskins is that New York will likely be without defensive end Jason Pierre-Paul. This could open this up a bit for RGIII and Alfred Morris on the ground.

Redskins 5-0 ATS past five games vs Giants
Redskins 0-3 SU and ATS in divisional games in 2013
Washington has failed to cover in its last three games.
The Giants have been favored in their last 12 meetings with Washington.
Since 2009, the Giants are 16-21-1 against the spread as favorites.

The Verdict:

Last week aside, the Giants seem to have turned a corner. It may be too late to salvage a playoff bid but there are a lot of people in that Giants locker room that are playing/coaching for their jobs for 2014. Washington's pass defense has looked suspect in recent weeks. Expect Manning to air it out early and guide the Giants to victory on the road.

Pick: NEW YORK -1
