NFL Monday Night Cash-In
Houston Texan vs. San Diego Chargers
Houston -6, O/U 45

What a wild weekend to kick off the 2013 NFL season! The fun is not doen yet as the league wraps up the week with a Monday night double header. The Houston Texans, on of the best teams in the NFL in 2012 opens up the season on the road at San Diego. The Texans are coming off a terrible end to their season that saw them lose home field down the stretch before being bounced by the New England Patriots for the second time in weeks. The pressure is on in Houston for coach Gary Kubiak and QB Matt Schaub as both have showed an ability to win in the regular season but come playoff time just simply cannot seem to get the job done. We fully expect Schaub, Aarian Foster, Andre Johnson & Co. to come out of the gates with a chip on their shoulders and something to prove to their many doubters at this point.

On the other side we has a San Diego team who has failed to make the playoffs in each of the last three seasons and comes in with new first year head coach Mike McCoy at the helm. Unless we see Philip Rivers turn back the clock to the mid/late-2000's when he was one of the game's best it is unlikely the Charger offense can keep up with the high flying Texans. Ryan Matthews is a solid back but with little on the outside for Rivers to throw besides an aging Antonio Gates the motivated Houston defense should have a fairly easy time shutting down the Chargers offensive attack.

Trends:
Houston has not lost a week one game since 2009.
Houston is 4-0 ATS in its last four September games.
San Diego is 4-0 in all-time series.
San Diego is 0-4 ATS in its last four home game.

Verdict:
Two teams on completely opposite ends of the spectrum. Expect the Texans to come out with something to prove and handle the Chargers with ease. Play this one with confidence.

PICK: HOUSTON -6
The Texans haven’t lost their season opener since 2009, but will need to flip the script on a Chargers team that dominates the all-time series with a 4-0 record. - See more at: http://athlonsports.com/nfl/houston-texans-vs-san-diego-chargers-preview-and-prediction#sthash.KUonz95C.dpuf
